Teach your children how to help wash their clothes

Educate your children to wash their clothes.

Parents often overdo their children, forgetting how important it is for a child to learn to take care of themselves. If we want when our little ones grow up to become owners of themselves and responsible people, it is good to teach them how to wash their clothes so that they can help in housework and be ready for life from adults when they will have to do it all by themselves.

1. Start at an early age

A child around the age of 7-8 should be able to learn the essential things related to the washing process and to achieve it successfully (of course under the supervision of the parents). Older children may argue first and mainly teenagers will not want to take this responsibility on their own. But on the other hand, you will enjoy the freedom of caring for their own clothes.

2. Learn how to group your clothes

Teach your child how to differentiate and divide white clothes from colorful clothes, to divide the dark ones, dresses, towels etc. In this way, we explain to them that the clothes should be washed in color and material so that they can be washed in the most appropriate washing process, in the right temperature and in the specific products required by each one. repeat these instructions several times until your toddler takes possession of it. Here’s a short list that can be easily embedded:

  • Check if you have forgotten something in your pockets
  • Read the instructions on clothes on the label, and then proceed
  • Printed wardrobe, turn it back in order to prevent any damage to the design while washing
Check the amount of clothes, in line with the weight they have, the amount of clothing should not be less or less
  • We should know that we know the materials that do not accept washing in the washing machine, but want dry cleaning or hand washing.

3. Learn how to use the washing machine

Washing machines can be very complex, but most people use only a few basic functions regularly. Begin by teaching your child the normal wash cycle and what buttons are to be printed. We assure you that your little one will feel more powerful after being able to control this great machine. After a while, you can teach the children some additional options, such as:

  • When, where, and how to clean the washing machine
  • When using hot, warm or cold water
  • Which clothing requires prior treatment
  • How, where and when to use the fabric softener on the washing machine
  • How to maintain the washing machine by running a quick cleaning occasionally.

4. Teach the kids how to wash their clothes by hand

  • The amount of water with which to fill the small pelvis where to talk by hand
  • How to add the detergent
  • How to rub the stains on clothes
  • How to squeeze clothes (remove excess water that is also the hardest part)

5. Teach the children how to honor their clothes

Tell the kids how to open their clothes, and where the clothes clamps should be placed, so that the air circulates freely on all sides, and the clothes dry out properly.

6. Learn how to unplug the rags and put them in places.
Practice occasionally with them until they learn how:

  • Combine twin braces
  • Take your clothes back
  • Carefully toss shirts, pullovers and pants
  • Hang hangers on skirts, dresses and formal dresses

Careful! This is only for the purpose of education and small children should not be burdened with work that can harm their health !!!

Advice:

  • Even after the children think they are ready to do all of their own, observe them silently at least for a couple of weeks. It is inevitable that there will be details that have been saved without clarifying, and you will have the chance to fill the little spaces by fix things.
  • Do not hang hopes all the time on your kids, washing clothes. Children will notice that you are not doing this anymore. It will not go unnoticed.
  • Do not harass children by pushing them to help you wash their clothes. Sit and talk with them, because it is your job to teach them and it is their job to give a small help to the home where they live. If they are a reasonable child, they should at least accept to learn how the washing process takes place, even if they do not help much at home after that.
  • If your child is annoyed by this and does not want to attend, then teach him the last few steps.
  • When you wash by hand, give your gloves to protect your hands.
